  • How do i install eyeShare?

    After you have registred to download your free version, you will get an email with download link, click on that link and your Download should start automatically:

    1. 1. A download window should open, click ‘Save’
    2. 2. Save eyeShare36.zip file to your hard drive
    3. 3. Open the Zip file after downloading and Run setup.exe
    4. 4. The Setup program will now start and guide you through the installation process

  • How do i activate my Free license?

    Launch Ayehu eyeShare product by clicking on the eyeShare Dashboard shortcut on your desktop, You should see now an activation window, which where you will be asked to enter your email address.

    1. 1. Please make sure that you use the same email address you used when you downloaded Ayehu eyeShare
    2. 2. To activate your Free license please make sure the computer Ayehu eyeShare Server is installed on has internet access
    3. 3. You may also activate your product by email, please connect us at support@ayehu.com
    4. 4. A message will confirm that you have successfully activated your Free license.
    5. 5. Ayehu eyeShare is now activated and ready to be used

  • Functionality

  • Where can I find my product key?

    Logon to the dashboard, and select Management >Configuration >License. Your product key information will be displayed.

  • How do I Know which eyeShare version I have?

    Open your dashboard and press the About button. Your eyeShare version information will be displayed.

  • How do I customize my dashboard?

    In order to customize your dashboard, you have to change the dashboard settings that are defined for your user. Enter the Users list in the Resources section. Choose requested user and press the Dashboard Settings button. Now, you can choose which charts to display, add/remove columns, change columns name etc. You can always restore system defaults using the Default Settings button

  • How do I know which user is currently logged in to the dashboard?

    You can find the user name that is currently logged in to the dashboard on the upper left side of your dashboard.

  • How many dashboards can I install?

    You can install one dashboard on each machine. The total number of dashboards that can be installed in your organization depends on your license.

  • Can I organize my Active Logs?

    Yes simply right click the Active Logs folder and create new sub-directories. Now, update the relevant Rule or Scheduled Action and make sure the log is stored in the new sub-directory.

  • How do I define default credentials for remote activities?

    You can define the default Windows / UNIX credentials that you use when executing an activity on a remote server. Go to Settings and select the General tab. Enter the username and password that needs to be used when executing a remote command.

  • How do I reset my Admin password?

    . In order to reset user Admin password, go to eyeShare installation folder c:\Program Files\eyeShare\eyeShare Server and execute the following command: “eyeShare ResetAdminPassword.exe” . Your Admin password will be reset to “Admin”.

  • Workflows

  • What is the difference between Terminate and Terminate Workflow?

    When you create a sequential workflow, termination of an activity also terminates the workflow. When you create parallel activities, termination is performed for the activity in the current branch. To terminate all parallel activities you need terminate the entire workflow.

  • What is the difference between Close Incident and Reset Incident?

    Use Close Incident when you need to generate a recovery message and update the incident MTTR.

  • Can I share my workflows with other users?

    Yes you can import and export any of your workflows. Display the Workflows List, right click the requested workflow and select Import. The workflow is saved to an XML file that you can transfer to other systems and environments.

  • How do I disable an activity without erasing it?

    When you select an activity, the attributes are displayed at the bottom-left of the screen. To disable an activity, modify the Enabled attribute. When an activity is disabled the indicator is Green.

  • How do I set a connection string for my database activities?

    There are many ways to write a connection string depending on your provider requirements. To decide which connection string is suitable for your provider, read the following information How to Select Connection String.

  • Can I install few eyeShare modules?

    Yes. You can install few number of eyeShare modules according to your license. All communication modules including eyeShare executor can be installed on several machines in order to ensure load balancing and redundancy.

  • What ports do eyeShare modules use?

    eyeShare modules use the following ports: eyeShare Server - 11000 eyeShare email Module - 11001 eyeShare SMS Module - 11002 eyeShare Caller Module - 11003 eyeShare Executor - 11006 eyeShare IM - 11008 eyeShare SCOM – 11012

  • Can I install eyeShare on virtual machine?

    Yes. You can install eyeShare on VMware or on Microsoft Virtual Machine. When using virtual machines, all hardware such as GSM terminal or voice modem should be installed on different physical machine.

  • How does eyeShare execute remote commands?

    eyeShare is an agent less system which does not require agent installation. All activities are being done remotely using either WMI for Windows based machines or SSH for UNIX based machines.

  • Can I use existing database with my eyeShare installation?

    Yes. eyeShare database can be installed locally on the same machine as eyeShare server, but it can be installed on remote hosting machine. When using remote database, make sure to use eyeShare DC utility in order to configure the details of database server, port, user name and password.

  • How do install eyeShare license?

    Please use the following instructions in order to install your new free license: 1. Save the eyeShare license file (XML file) on local disk drive. 2. Open eyeShare Dashboard (use the eyeShare Dashboard shortcut on your desktop) 3. Login with your Admin account (default password if it was not changed is 'Admin') 4. When the activation window appears, click the browse button and select the saved XML file. 5. Click on the Install license button

  • How can execute remote activities on servers in my DMZ?

    In order to execute remote activities on server that reside in the DMZ, install eyeShare executor module one of your DMZ servers, which have WMI access to all other DMZ servers. eyeShare server will establish connection only with the specific server, while sending it the activities request. The communication between eyeShare server and the executor module is done through port 11006 and it is encrypted using 3DES. It is one way communication from inside (eyeShare server) to the outside (DMZ server).

  • What types of email configuration are supported by eyeShare email module?

    eyeShare email module supports three types of email configuration: 1. POP3 and SMTP 2. Web Access 3. Web Access for incoming emails and SMTP for outgoing emails.

  • Can I integrate eyeShare with my Active Directory?

    Yes. Select Settings > Configuration > Settings and click the AD tab. Enter the relevant details including server IP, domain name, user and password. eyeShare will establish a connection with the Active Directory and import users from the requested OU or Group.
