  • How do i install eyeShare?

    After you have registred to download your free version, you will get an email with download link, click on that link and your Download should start automatically:

    1. 1. A download window should open, click ‘Save’
    2. 2. Save eyeShareXX.zip file to your hard drive
    3. 3. Open the Zip file after downloading and Run setup.exe
    4. 4. The Setup program will now start and guide you through the installation process

  • How do i activate my 30-day Trial license?

    Launch Ayehu eyeShare product by clicking on the eyeShare Dashboard shortcut on your desktop, You should see now an activation window, which where you will be asked to enter your email address.

    1. 1. Please make sure you use a valid email address
    2. 2. To activate your Trial license please make sure your eyeShare Server has internet access
    3. 3. You may also activate your product by email, please connect us at support@ayehu.com
    4. 4. A message will confirm that you have successfully activated your license.
    5. 5. Ayehu eyeShare is now activated and ready to be used

  • How can I install my new license file?

    I received a new eyeShare key in xml file and I would like to update my eyeShare product, how can I do that.

    1. Go to Configuration -> Settings -> License-> Browse -> Install

  • Functionality

  • Where can I find my product key?

    Logon to the dashboard, and select Management >Configuration >License. Your product key information will be displayed.

  • How do I Know which eyeShare version I have?

    Open your dashboard and press the About button. Your eyeShare version information will be displayed.

  • How do I customize my dashboard?

    In order to customize your dashboard, you have to change the dashboard settings that are defined for your user. Enter the Users list in the Resources section. Choose requested user and press the Dashboard Settings button. Now, you can choose which charts to display, add/remove columns, change columns name etc. You can always restore system defaults using the Default Settings button

  • How do I know which user is currently logged in to the dashboard?

    You can find the user name that is currently logged in to the dashboard on the upper left side of your dashboard.

  • How many dashboards can I install?

    You can install one dashboard on each machine. The total number of dashboards that can be installed in your organization depends on your license.

  • Can I organize my Active Logs?

    Yes simply right click the Active Logs folder and create new sub-directories. Now, update the relevant Rule or Scheduled Action and make sure the log is stored in the new sub-directory.

  • How to keep my eyeShare database size low?

    1. By default eyeShare set to keep active Logs for 30 days, eyeShare archive in database is set to 180 days.
    2. To maintain eyeShare database size and performance, you can edit the following config file: c:\Programd Files(x86)\eyeShare\eyeShare Server and edit the CONFIG file eyeShareArchive.exe.
    3. Edit the Keep History before Archive key which determines the Active Logs ageing, and the Keep Archive key which determines the history of logs that will be saved in the database.

  • How do I define default credentials for remote activities?

    You can define the default Windows / UNIX credentials that you use when executing an activity on a remote server. Go to Settings and select the General tab. Enter the username and password that needs to be used when executing a remote command.

  • How do I reset my Admin password?

    . In order to reset user Admin password, go to eyeShare installation folder c:\Program Files\eyeShare\eyeShare Server and execute the following command: “eyeShare ResetAdminPassword.exe” . Your Admin password will be reset to “Admin”.

  • Workflows and Activities

  • How can I call to external web services from eyeShare workflow?

    You can use eyeShare to send a receive data using External web service API, in order to use this functionally in eyeShare, use the following instructions:

    1. Open eyeShare Studio
    2. Go to Repository > Web Services
    3. Create new Web Service
    4. Insert the Web Service URL and press Query Service
    5. Once the Web Service is created, go to the workflow and use the Invoke Web Service activity, in order to invoke the required web service.

  • How can I execute script or a command line from eyeShare workflow?

    In order to execute a script or a command line from eyeShare workflow, use the following instructions:

    1. Open eyeShare Studio
    2. Go to Repository > Commands
    3. Create new Command
    4. Insert the command name and the script path/ command itself (e.g. ipconfig)
    5. Once the command is created, go to the workflow and use the Executor activity, in order to execute the command. You can use the command output as part of your workflow.

  • How can I execute privileged command (Enable) on Cisco routers?

    In order to execute privileged command on Cisco routers, use the Enable Privileged Commands activity from the Cisco section. Start the session with Start Cisco Session activity, enable privileged command and send the required command by using Send Cisco Command activity. Make sure to terminate the session at the end of the workflow, by using the Terminate Cisco Session activity.

  • What is the difference between Terminate and Terminate Workflow?

    When you create a sequential workflow, termination of an activity also terminates the workflow. When you create parallel activities, termination is performed for the activity in the current branch. To terminate all parallel activities you need terminate the entire workflow.

  • What is the difference between Close Incident and Reset Incident?

    Use Close Incident when you need to generate a recovery message and update the incident MTTR.

  • How can I define a timeout for more than 24 hours in the Communication activities?

    In order to define timeout which is higher than 24 hours in the communication activities, use the following format at the Timeout field: 1.00:00:00.

  • Can I share my workflows with other users?

    Yes you can import and export any of your workflows. Display the Workflows List, right click the requested workflow and select Import. The workflow is saved to an XML file that you can transfer to other systems and environments.

  • How can I read excel or CSV files using eyeShare workflow?

    Use the Read XSL or CSV activity which is located under File and Folders category in the eyeShare designer left toolbox, drag and drop the CSV activity, double click in order to select the file you wish to read.

  • How I can generate random number within eyeShare workflow?

    Use the Random Number Generator activity which is located in the Math Functions section, in order to generate random number and use it within the workflow.

  • How can I send result-set (output from an activity) by email?

    In order to send result set by email (for example SQL query result), use the Convert to HTML action which is located in the Memory and Functions section. Enter the result set variable into the convert action, and insert the conversion result (%convertToHTMLTable1%) to the email body in the Send Email activity.

  • What is the role of the Display Value activity?

    The display value activity, present the select value (string, integer, variable value) in the Active Logs. It is very useful when you want to debug the process and to add relevant notes to the logs.

  • What type of source does the Contains activity supports?

    The Contains activity may receive both text and a result set, in order to find whether the search phrase is part of the source text.

  • How can I view a source code of a web page URL using eyeShare workflow?

    In eyeShare designer, under the Web category, drag and drop the HTTP Get action in order to receive the source code of the required web page (you can use the results and create an action out of that).

  • How I can create workflow which is not sequential but parallel?

    Use the Parallel action which is located in the Workflow designer toolbox, under the Controls category, using the parallel activity is equivalent to executing few concurrent workflows.

  • How can i find what are the Active Directory user groups using eyeShare?

    In order to find in which groups the AD user is a member, use the AD List User Groups active, which is located in the Active Directory category in the workflow designer.

    In order to find in which groups the AD user is a member, use the AD List User Groups active, which is located in the Active Directory category in the workflow designer.

  • How can I define variable in a workflow?

    Under the workflow designer, on the left toolbox, go to category> Memory and Functions, use the Set Memory activity under in order to create new variable. The variable scope can be local or Global. Local variables can be referred only within current workflow, while global variables can be referred from the entire workflows. Global variable value can be saved to the database using the save checkbox in the Set Memory activity.

  • Can eyeShare support MYSQL queries?

    In the workflow designer left tool box > Category Database, you can find the MySQL query activity that allows you to execute queries and statements on remote MySQL database. Make sure to install MySQL connector on eyeShare server before using these activities.

  • How can I use eyeShare to monitor folder contents or if file exists?

    Use the Folder List activity in order to monitor the contents of a specified folder. The activity returns the folder contents, including time filtering, so you can find files/folders that were created/modified/access during the last defined hours. You can also find a pre-defined workflow template on the right toolbox, just drag and drop and start to customize it to your own need.

  • How can I set roles and permissions for each workflow I build?

    Go to your workflow library. Right click on you desired workflow you just saved, select permissions and edit the workflow permissions. You can either grant permissions to a single user or group.

  • How do I disable an activity without erasing it?

    When you select an activity, the attributes are displayed at the bottom-left of the screen. To disable an activity, modify the Enabled attribute. When an activity is disabled the indicator is Green.

  • How do I set a connection string for my database activities?

    There are many ways to write a connection string depending on your provider requirements. To decide which connection string is suitable for your provider, read the following information How to Select Connection String.

  • Can I install few eyeShare modules?

    Yes. You can install few number of eyeShare modules according to your license. All communication modules including eyeShare executor can be installed on several machines in order to ensure load balancing and redundancy.

  • What ports eyeShare modules use?

    eyeShare modules use the following ports: eyeShare Server - 11000 eyeShare email Module - 11001 eyeShare SMS Module - 11002 eyeShare Caller Module - 11003 eyeShare Executor - 11006 eyeShare IM - 11008 eyeShare SCOM – 11012

  • Can I install eyeShare on virtual machine?

    Yes. You can install eyeShare on VMware or on Microsoft HyperV, MS Azure, Amazone and more. When using virtual machines, all hardware such as GSM terminal or voice modem should be installed on different physical machine.

  • How does eyeShare execute remote commands?

    eyeShare is an agent less system which does not require agent installation. All activities are being done remotely using either WMI for Windows based machines or SSH for UNIX based machines.

  • Can I use existing database with my eyeShare installation?

    Yes. eyeShare database can be installed locally on the same machine as eyeShare server, but it can be installed on remote hosting machine. When using remote database, make sure to use eyeShare DC utility in order to configure the details of database server, port, user name and password.

  • How do install eyeShare license?

    Please use the following instructions in order to install your new free license: 1. Save the eyeShare license file (XML file) on local disk drive. 2. Open eyeShare Dashboard (use the eyeShare Dashboard shortcut on your desktop) 3. Login with your Admin account (default password if it was not changed is 'Admin') 4. When the activation window appears, click the browse button and select the saved XML file. 5. Click on the Install license button

  • How can execute remote activities on servers in my DMZ?

    In order to execute remote activities on server that reside in the DMZ, install eyeShare executor module one of your DMZ servers, which have WMI access to all other DMZ servers. eyeShare server will establish connection only with the specific server, while sending it the activities request. The communication between eyeShare server and the executor module is done through port 11006 and it is encrypted using 3DES. It is one way communication from inside (eyeShare server) to the outside (DMZ server).

  • What types of email configuration are supported by eyeShare email module?

    eyeShare email module supports three types of email configuration: 1. POP3 and SMTP 2. Web Access 3. Web Access for incoming emails and SMTP for outgoing emails.

  • How can I trigger workflow in eyeShare?

    You can send alerts or triggers to eyeShare using any of the following communication available: send email to a dedicated eyeShare mailbox, call eyeShare Web Service, send SNMP trap, use eyeShare Command Line utility for Windows, Linux, Unix, have eyeShare server listen to SYSLOG, or use the SMS module to send text message to eyeShare server (more information about that please contact our support@ayehu.com

  • Can I integrate eyeShare with my Active Directory?

    Yes. Select Settings > Configuration > Settings and click the AD tab. Enter the relevant details including server IP, domain name, user and password. eyeShare will establish a connection with the Active Directory and import users from the requested OU or Group.
